Achieve Affiliate Marketing Success

We are lucky enough to be working in an industry that is showing strong growth day by day, year on year.

This is great news for affiliate marketers, whether seasoned veterns or the newcomers. We're all part of an industry that is recession proof, an industry that is growing every single day and most importantly an industry that provides you with the opportunity to become successful with very little investment.

So what are the simple actions you can take to achieve affiliate marketing success?

1. You need to be ready to TAKE ACTION

You've got to really want to be successful and be ready to jump on an opportunity when it arises. Whether it be a new offer, untapped niche or an upcoming traffic sources you need to make sure you are ready to jump in to action when the opportunity is staring you in the face.

Get yourself to a stage where you know what to do when this happens. It's going to be a little confusing at first and you will take time getting to know the process and how you work.

In the mean time, there are some great resources out there to get you prepared:

2. You need to be patient

Sure, you can go from zero to hero overnight, it happens but you've got to be aware that it isn't always as easy as that. You're most likely going to launch a campaign or two that will crash and burn without second thought, we all do it but you just don't hear about it.

You've got to be patient with your campaigns and work on testing, tweaking and scaling them to new levels.

3. You need to spend money to make money

It's an old saying but it rings true in affiliate marketing. Be wise with your investment, reinvest in to winning campaigns and milk them for every little last cent they can offer you.

Also (and I can't stress this enough), if you're going to get involved in affiliate marketing, do it properly. Don't start creating landing pages on free websites with generic domains, spend $5 and get yourself a domain and some web hosting. The benefits are endless:

- Professional image
- Flexibility
- Opportunity for tracking and expansion

(We recommend HostGator for anyone starting out. They offer an affordable and effective hosting solution to get your affiliate marketing business off the ground. You can get 25% off your first years hosting with, find out more here)

4. You need to network and keep in the loop

Sometimes there is no better way to learn about affiliate marketing than to speak to others that are regularly involved. I'm not saying spend 18 hours a day talking and instant messaging but take the time to connect and reach out to the people around you, feed off of their positive attitude and use their success stories as motivation.

There are many great places to do this including:

- The Network Roundup Facebook Group
- Affiliate Marketing Forum
 Affposts - Affiliate blog aggregator

Also make sure you keep up to date with the latest affiliate news by checking Network Roundup regularly.

5. You need to learn from your mistakes

This goes for any thing in business, not just affiliate marketing. You've got to learn from your mistakes but not dwell on them.

When I was starting out there were times when I made some pretty costly mistakes, typing incorrect destination urls and spending $xxx sending traffic to a broken website... it happens but I learnt from it and it's never happened again. Yeah I lost a few hundred $ but I didn't give up, I just worked harder and recovered the loss.

We're all human, we all make mistakes, FACT!

and finally, you need to get out there and get started!

This list isn't exhaustive, there are so many different aspects that will affect your journey to affiliate marketing success but you've just got to stick with it.

Start networking, get stuck in and make the jump, stop procrastinating and start learning. As the quote goes:

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do." - Mark Twain

Here's to your affiliate marketing success.
